The most amazing news I’ve seen this week is about a four-foot tall EVA-01 made out of LEGO bricks! I was planning to talk about the LEGO progressive knife, but to leave out all details of the build would be a sin so I featured it here.
I have a collection of LEGO Star Wars ships myself, but I have to say I’m not much of a LEGO builder because I don’t do MOC’s I buy my sets, have my brother build them once and put them up for display. There’s not much to say, so I’ll let the pictures do the talking.
The EVA is fully articulate and has an array of weapons, including the progressive knife. Even more brilliant, the epic MOC creator, legodoumoko even made the Evangelion to LEGO minifigure scale–meaning the pilots actually fit into the cockpit.
As always, I have the highest respect for LEGO builders–it takes a lot of creativity and resources to resolve individual bricks to work with each other to form the intended output. Resin is not an easy material to work with, but at least it is liquid at some point, so you have time to make it adhere to whatever shape you desire. Great job Mr. Moko!
